CHANNEL O SPRITE EMCEE BATTLE

Concept Overview
Emcee Africa is a 52 minute, 10 episode journey through 6 countries on the continent searching for the NEW King or Queen of the African Lyrical arena
The show is hosted by Hip Hop aficionado and activist, Leslie "Lee" Kasumba, with veteran UK Hip-Hop artist Blak Twang who features as drawcard for the Ultimate Battle.
Lee has managed to take her passion for hip-hop and use it to help play a role in the growth of the Hip Hop movement on the continent.
Blak Twang has had much success over his 10 year rap career, including a number of critically acclaimed albums and awards under his belt.
Inspired by freestyle battles - reflected in films like 8 Mile and documentaries like Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme, Emcee Africa brings a virgin opportunity to aspiring emcees in South Africa and across the continent.
Never before has a continental Hip Hop reality based competition such as this existed

Concept Overview – Country Battles
Battle Royale
The call to action on Channel O and local radio and TV partner will direct competition hopefuls to the chosen venue where after a morning of freestyle auditions, 20 of the best emcees will have 30 seconds on camera to freestyle and impress judges - with the hope of qualifying for one of eight spots available for the final country battle.
This will enable us to weed out emcees who work off the page and not straight off the dome… In the country battles - it's about free-styling.
This is where your support will be vital to help create awareness about the project, engage your listeners / viewers and provide an EXCEPTIONAL opportunity to aspiring Hip Hop artists in your country
